So we have two general examples (vrefs and mxProxy) and there's WeakDict (or something like that). I think there really needs to be a core facility for this. There are a lot of users (including myself) who think that things are far less useful if they're not in the core. (No, I'm not saying that everything should be in the core, or even that it needs a lot more stuff. I just don't want to be writing code that requires a lot of separate packages to be installed.
