Trying to restore a copy of our live content onto a fresh development environment. The site is mid-sized, Cloud standard tier, with ~500 content items, ~3000 media items, and ~16.5GB of media files.
First tried a workspace restore and got a timeout.
Next tried a partial restore of just one node (+6 descendants) and got another timeout.
Now no matter what I tried here I simply couldn't restore anything. After restarting both the dev and live sites I was finally able to restore some content... Went into investigation mode, so tried a workspace restore again and got the same result. Going onto the live site and attempting any Deploy actions in the backoffice just hung infinitely. Similarly going into Kudu and using the echo > deploy
etc commands resulted in a deploy-progress
file being created but no activity after 30+ minutes. After a restart all was fine again.
It seems attempting to perform a large restore (such as the whole workspace) crashes the Deploy process running in the source (in my case live) environment.
This is with Umbraco v10.4.0 and Deploy v10.1.2.
