Rule: CompareObjectsWithEquals
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
See #2980 (comment)
Describe the solution you'd like
Configure a list of types that are exceptions for CompareObjectsWithEquals. This would be a new property
Describe alternatives you've considered
Keep the rule as is, use suppressions to make exceptions. This is not great; considering we already make an exception for Enum
& Class
, we could just extend the logic to a set of types
Additional context
Would be easier in pmd 7, where we probably will have logic to validate that property values are types
