A little hard to describe,
when pressing forward delete[1] while completing in the qtconsole it prings the whole completion text on the current lie :
In [1]: import py py_compile pydoc pyexpat pygments pylint pysql pysvg ... another line
pressing forward delete
In [1]: import pyompile pydoc pyexpat pygments pylint pysql pysvg ... the other line
one can move inside and modify the new text, except that .... the other line is still a visual artifact and diseapear with some actions, like click, going to EOL ... etc
[1] I think it is called this way, it the key that delete the letter after your cursor, instead of before
