Description

Referencing a required :param class member in DESTROY, which had not been correctly initialised during instantiation, triggered a Segmentation fault.

Steps to Reproduce

This script is the most whittled-down example I could produce which exhibits the behaviour:

#!/usr/bin/env perl

use v5.40;
use experimental qw/ class /;

class Foo {

    field $dependency :param :reader;

    DESTROY {
        shift->dependency->cleanup;
    }
}

# Ooops, forgot to supply the dependency
Foo->new;

Expected behavior
Additional error:

• Can't call method "cleanup" on an undefined value
