Quite. Someone just submitted a patch to do exactly that :) (dead serious). 
The C++ wrapper that "is already part of ffmpeg" is unambiguously not valid 
C++, and an external project called "fobs" , which wraps ffmpeg for C++ and 
Java, is already available.
