I think ffplay is the easiest way to check, but it doesn't work so well on
my machine, so I enabled the DEBUG define, which will dump the decoded
subtitle into /tmp/a.ppm (minus transparency). There currently isn't a way
to decode subtitles to a set of image files with ffmpeg as far as I can see.

The DELSCENE1.EVO and DELSCENE7.EVO files in
http://samples.mplayerhq.hu/evob/ both contain HD subtitle streams, but the
subtitles are at a different resolution to the main video, so the display on
ffplay is strange. I'll upload a better sample.
