While it's clear that this timeline is mostly about the two parent companies, im wondering if it would be enhanced by including some of the major acquisitions by the two in between the various spinoffs and mergers. I think it might provide some context for how a spinoff of a former minor division became large enough to buy its former parent. That acquisition of Paramount Pictures by Viacom especially is significant.
