Unicode 16.0 is the version of the Unicode Standard released on 10 September 2024, with the emojis added in this update expected to come to major platforms in late 2024 and throughout 2025.
Unicode 16.0 introduced a total of 5,185 new characters, of which 7 were new emoji code points. This brought the total number of characters encoded within Unicode to 154,998.
All the emojis recommended within Unicode 16.0 were also included within Emoji 16.0, which also featured one additional emoji sequence.
