Scotland's oldest student run theatre is a 90-seat auditorium in a converted church near Greyfriar's Bobby and the National Museum of Scotland.
Although it shares its name with a famous madhouse, the resident Edinburgh University Theatre Company regularly perform more traditional plays and musicals, as well as putting on edgier stuff like improv nights and new comedy shows.
The university theatre plays host to a number of other theatre companies during the Fringe in August. See Bedlam Fringe for details.
