Eurostat publishes a large amount of metadata that provide background information needed to fully understand and accurately interpret the data. Now, a revamp of the metadata files makes it easier for users to navigate through all the available information.
Based on feedback from our users, the modernised layout and design contribute to a more accessible and user-friendly experience. Users can now choose between short metadata layout, offering information about 15 key concepts of metadata, or expand to full view if they need more details.
In addition to the new layout, Eurostat has created quality checklists and accessibility guidelines for metadata files to ensure a consistent approach to content quality.
The transition to the new layout began in late January, with a gradual rollout planned to ensure smooth transition for all users.
