Los Angeles Rams Partner With KCBS-TV To Air Preseason Games

The returning Los Angeles Rams have pacted with KCBS-TV in a multiyear deal that taps the channel as “the Official Preseason Television Home of the Rams.”

KCBS-TV

CBS 2 will offer the Southland market exclusive English-language telecasts of three Rams preseason games this summer: August 20 at home against Kansas City, August 27 at Denver and September 1 at Minnesota. The pact does not include the August 13 preseason opener against the Dallas Cowboys at the Coliseum, which will air on ESPN.

CBS 2 also will produce and broadcast a weekly half-hour show with Rams head coach Jeff Fisher and CBS 2 Sports Director Jim Hill, who covered the team for the channel for many years before they split for St. Louis in 1994.

“Everyone at CBS 2 is thrilled to have the opportunity to play a role in welcoming the Rams back to Los Angeles,” said Steve Mauldin, President and General Manager of KCBS. “We look forward to helping the team to connect with local communities across Southern California, not only through our preseason game broadcasts, but also by providing comprehensive daily coverage of the Rams in our newscasts and supporting the team’s community outreach programs.”

Said Rams COO Kevin Demoff: “CBS 2 will help bring the Rams closer to our fans with entertaining and informative preseason telecasts, in addition to exclusive interviews and regular season coverage of the team both on and off the field.”
