Advanced Animations produces animatronics and decor for theme parks, restaurants, trade shows and educational purposes. They have worked for big clients like Six Flags, Universal and Disney and are perhaps best known for their animatronic shows.
The company was founded in 1978 by Bob Marquis and Dan Long to sell animatronics to amusement parks. At that time it was known as Advanced Animation but not long after, the name was changed to the plural Advanced Animations.
Eventually, it was bought by Warner Communications under which it produced various animatronic shows for parks and restaurants. In the mid 1980s, the founders bought it back and moved from Southbury, Connecticut, to Stockbridge, Vermont. Then, during the 90s, the two sold the company to Steve Toth under whom it still operates today.
