English: Visualisation of the use of arithmetic coding to encode the message "WIKI" by CMG Lee. The innermost band gives is split into three intervals in ratios of the frequencies of the letters W, I and K, arranged clockwise from the top. Subsequent bands partition the interval corresponding to the next letter in the message. The two red lines represent values corresponding to the messages "WIKI" and "KIWI" for comparison. In the SVG image, hover over an interval to highlight it and show its statistics.
