Workshops to be held at TUG'25:
There is no extra fee for either of these workshops. Preregistration is required only for the LaTeX workshop.
LaTeX developers' Tagged PDF workshop (limited seats)On Thursday, July 17, Tagged and Accessible PDF: A workshop for package/class developers, will be held. It will be led by Ulrike Fischer and Frank Mittelbach of the LaTeX team.
This is the day before the regular conference; expected time: 11:00-16:00. Please gather in the Hyatt lobby at 09:50 on the 17th for transport to the STM campus, where the workshop will be held. STM is providing lunch, refreshments, and transportation at no charge.
To attend the workshop, please:
If you have specific questions, please provide concrete examples in advance of the workshop, ideally starting from the LaTeX tagging prototypes. Especially if such examples are submitted, this year the workshop may focus to some extent on specific workflows with somewhat normalized input rather than entirely generic approaches for manually composed documents. For background, you may wish to consult some accessibility references.
There is no charge for the workshop, whether or not you attend the conference, but space is limited, so please sign up earlier rather than later. It will not be recorded or streamed, due to the close and open interaction required for a successful workshop.
Malayalam calligraphy demonstration and workshopRenowned calligrapher Narayana Bhattathiri of Trivandrum will present an informal Malayalam calligraphy demonstration and workshop on Sunday afternoon, in the main conference lecture hall. It will be approximately one hour. There is no fee and no need to pre-register.
A small sampling of Bhattathiri's work.
