Robert Prevost — the first pontiff born in the United States — has elected to become Pope Leo XIV.

Pope Leo XIV, 69, had been a leading candidate for the papacy.

The prospect of a US pope had long been taboo, given the country's significant geopolitical power.

Prevost was twice elected prior general of the Augustinians, the 13th-century religious order founded by St Augustine.

Cybercriminals have stolen almost 100 staff logins from workers at Australia's biggest banks.

Experts say they found dozens of compromised credentials belonging to ANZ and Commonwealth Bank staff, and fewer than five belonging to NAB and Westpac staff.

The attackers could ultimately use those leaked logins to gain access to the banks' corporate networks, experts warned.

RecipeTin Eats founder Nagi Maehashi has clashed with social media personality Brooke Bellamy over the sources of recipes.

Maehashi said two recipes in the cookbook Bake with Brooki were uncannily similar to recipes she previously published.

Bellamy said she "did not plagiarise any recipes" and she had been making and selling her recipes prior to Maehashi's being published.

Bellamy said that after Maehashi contacted her, she offered to remove the caramel slice and baklava recipes from future reprints of her cookbook to "prevent further aggravation".
