Manhattan Project B Reactor Tours

The B Reactor National Historic Landmark is the world's first full-scale plutonium production reactor and part of the Manhattan Project National Historical Park administered by the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Park Service. Tours offer more information about the people, events, science, and engineering that led to the creation of the atomic bombs that helped bring an end to World War II.

The 2025 Manhattan Project National Historical Park (MAPR) B Reactor tours are suspended due to major construction projects set to begin this year.   

We will continue to offer our Pre-Manhattan Project Historical Sites tours from May through September. Please sign up at this link for specific dates and times.

We are also offering a new program this summer in lieu of B Reactor Tours. 

• Atomic Explorations. Explore the history, science, and people of the Manhattan Project while visiting the park. Learn about the events that culminated in the development and deployment of the world’s first atomic bombs during World War II and share Hanford’s connection to this world-changing history. Programs are offered Monday - Thursday, and Saturdays at 2:30 pm in the park visitor center (2000 Logston Blvd, Richland). Programs are free, and reservations are not required.
