Like xslt you need to put those in their own namespace, and
you should use a '-' as a separator

<python:for>
  <python:control-variable>line</python:control-variable>
  <python:iterator-list>getlines</python:iterator-list>
   etc.

(And yes, my fingers get tired doing xslt.)
