Python 2.x rpm package to update Mandrake 7.2

Hi,
I am a newbie and would update Python 1.52 to 2.xx.

I found one rpm for MDK 8.x but cannot install. This need many very new library file...

Otherwise i compiled Python 2 with option "old-install" it's  OK, but i cannot making change to new 2.xx location. Why?
