In our universitary classes for 1st year students of computer science,
the usage of Python has shown to get significantly better results than the usage
of Modula-2, Java and C++.

Students concentrated more on patterns and algorithms because they did
fight less with complicated syntax, strong typing, etc.

They got a sense of how a programming language is built and what
concepts exist and how to use the concepts you'll find on any
kind of programming language.
