Get a book as soon as you can! Read the online tutorials at www.python.org!

I recommend O'Reilly "Learning Python" for beginning and Prentice Hall
"Core Python" for advanced/reference.
>From my view there is still no real "rookie" book for learning Python, so
try some small programming tasks and test some libraries, but I guess
without some well-structured books you won't learn a thing.
