I am contemplating a simple socket application in python. It will serve
only a specific set a management data. I am thinking of modelling it like
the httpd server -- or just using that -- but, was wondering what kind of
security questions arise. Currently using python 1.6x on linux and
freebsd. Can anyone comment on issues I should be concerned about?

Basically, I just want a readonly socket -- open to anyone who cares to
read it.
