Larry's note was about adding (redundant) *NON-ascii* unicode symbols, 
in particular × == \xd7, as in A × B, as a synonym for '@'. Various 
people have suggested adding various symbol synonyms, such as the Greek 
letter lambda for 'lambda', or a middle dot for '*'.
