Can we get the readline patch reviewed as well. It was applied to trunk already: http://svn.python.org/view?view=rev&revision=74970 It's marked for backport to 2.6 as "needs review": http://bugs.python.org/issue6877 It fixes a BusError crash that was just swiped under a rug by disabling the build in setup.py. :-) FWIW, the part of the patch that changes setup.py will be useful for another comparison of Mac OS X release numbers. The line 1362 on the trunk (1364 on the 2.6 branch) compares strings and, unfortunately, '10.' < '8.' for Darwin 10 (Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard): if os.uname()[2] > '8.': So, it should be changed to: if os_release > 8: where ``os_release`` is introduced by the patch mentioned above as: os_release = int(os.uname()[2].split('.')[0]) on the line 550 on the trunk.
