That sounds reasonable. I'm +1 in principle, but would like to see the
details thrashed out.

BTW, as a meta-question, where is this proposal targeted for? I'd
assume 2.6/3.0 are closed now, as we're hitting betas - so are we
looking at 2.7/3.1? (Just a quick sanity check on the timing...)
