It is *must* harder to do something much more useful, which is all Guido would be interested in. A a grad student, Armin Rigo conceived and implemented a clever idea which works with a large subset of Python. Now that he has graduated to the real world, I am sure all of us hope that he finds the means to continue. PyRex and Weave are other projects that help certain Python applications. Terry J. Reedy
