For the record, it was mine. And, in response to another thread:
yes, the choice that "def foo() [a,b,c]:" should do a, then b, then c,
was deliberate. "Define foo, make it a, make it b, and make it c". :-)

(I take no credit for the implementation; that was Michael's
alone.)
