In light of the brief thread yesterday about autoconf, I thought this might be a useful document to make people aware of: http://sources.redhat.com/autobook/autobook/autobook.html It's a largish online book (26 Chapters, 5 Appendices) covering automake, autoconf and libtool, rather more how they work together than simply documenting each tool. I don't know how many people are aware of it. I came across it while struggling with Gtk2 build issues a few months ago and saw mention of it on the tramp mailing list today. Skip
